Meditation:

Song of Solomon 2:8-13(NLT) ; 雅 歌 2:8-13(CUVS)

8 Ah, I hear my lover coming!
He is leaping over the mountains,
bounding over the hills.
9 My lover is like a swift gazelle
or a young stag.
Look, there he is behind the wall,
looking through the window,
peering into the room.
10 My lover said to me,
“Rise up, my darling!
Come away with me, my fair one!
11 Look, the winter is past,
and the rains are over and gone.
12 The flowers are springing up,
the season of singing birds has come,
and the cooing of turtledoves fills the air.
13 The fig trees are forming young fruit,
and the fragrant grapevines are blossoming.
Rise up, my darling!
Come away with me, my fair one!”

Letter T in our Alphabet of Verses

Trust in the Lord with all your heart.  ~ Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the Lord

A proverb is a wise saying. The book of Proverbs in the Bible is written to help the people who read it to live in ways that will make their lives go well. Today’s verse is a proverb that tells us to trust in God with our whole hearts. In other words, to trust God completely, in everything we do and in everything that happens to us.

In the picture, the little girl’s dad has tossed her up in the air. You can’t see her face, but do you think she is screaming or laughing? I think she is laughing, because she knows that her dad is going to catch her when she comes back down. She trusts him with all of her heart.

When things happen in your life that seem out of control, and you feel like you are going to fall, remember that your Heavenly Father is right there with you. He knows all about what is happening, and even if it is really hard, he will catch you and not let you fall. Sometimes the hard problems hang around for a long time, but God will stay with you through all of them and hold you up.

Our Father, it is so good to know that you are here with me through everything that happens in my life. When I feel like I am falling, catch me in your strong hands and keep me safe. Show me that I can trust you more and more, until I do trust you completely, with my whole heart. Amen

Prayer for our World:

Our CBM prayer this week is from Carla Nelson, Arnold’s daughter and CBM Staff for Africa. You can read her prayer here: https://www.cbmin.org/prayerline/.

Scripture:

“To what can I compare this generation? It is like children playing a game in the public square. They complain to their friends,
‘We played wedding songs,
and you didn’t dance,
so we played funeral songs,
and you didn’t mourn.’
For John didn’t spend his time eating and drinking, and you say, ‘He’s possessed by a demon.’ 19 The Son of Man, on the other hand, feasts and drinks, and you say, ‘He’s a glutton and a drunkard, and a friend of tax collectors and other sinners!’ But wisdom is shown to be right by its results.”

25 At that time Jesus prayed this prayer: “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. 26 Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way!

“My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

18 约 翰 来 了 , 也 不 吃 也 不 喝 , 人 就 说 他 是 被 鬼 附 着 的 ;
