Opening Songs

1st Scripture

36 One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to have dinner with him, so Jesus went to his home and sat down to eat. 37 When a certain immoral woman from that city heard he was eating there, she brought a beautiful alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume. 38 Then she knelt behind him at his feet, weeping. Her tears fell on his feet, and she wiped them off with her hair. Then she kept kissing his feet and putting perfume on them.

39 When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know what kind of woman is touching him. She’s a sinner!”

40 Then Jesus answered his thoughts. “Simon,” he said to the Pharisee, “I have something to say to you.”

“Go ahead, Teacher,” Simon replied.

41 Then Jesus told him this story: “A man loaned money to two people—500 pieces of silver to one and 50 pieces to the other. 42 But neither of them could repay him, so he kindly forgave them both, canceling their debts. Who do you suppose loved him more after that?”

43 Simon answered, “I suppose the one for whom he canceled the larger debt.”

“That’s right,” Jesus said. 44 Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Look at this woman kneeling here. When I entered your home, you didn’t offer me water to wash the dust from my feet, but she has washed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair. 45 You didn’t greet me with a kiss, but from the time I first came in, she has not stopped kissing my feet. 46 You neglected the courtesy of olive oil to anoint my head, but she has anointed my feet with rare perfume.

47 “I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.”

41 耶 稣 说 : 一 个 债 主 有 两 个 人 欠 他 的 债 ; 一 个 欠 五 十 两 银 子 , 一 个 欠 五 两 银 子 ;

Songs of Worship

Time for Quiet and Reflection

2nd Scripture

Psalm 107:1-9 (NLT) ; 詩 篇 107:1-9 (CUVS)

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!
    His faithful love endures forever.
Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out!
Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.
For he has gathered the exiles from many lands,
    from east and west,
    from north and south.

Some wandered in the wilderness,
    lost and homeless.
Hungry and thirsty,
    they nearly died.
“Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble,
and he rescued them from their distress.
He led them straight to safety,
to a city where they could live.
Let them praise the Lord for his great love
and for the wonderful things he has done for them.
For he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things.

但 愿 人 因 耶 和 华 的 慈 爱 和 他 向 人 所 行 的 奇 事 都 称 赞 他 ;

Prayer of Response

Heavenly Father, we praise you, for you are good and your faithful love endures forever! Remind us daily of this truth. May we accept your unwavering love for us even in times when our circumstances lead us to forget your constant love. Remind our hearts of your redemption and of areas where we have experienced your redemption in the past. Give us the confidence to speak out and tell others how you have redeemed us from our enemies and adversities.

Thank you that you rescue us any time we cry out to you “Lord Help us”, for you have gathered and always are gathering exiles from the north, south, east and west. We can’t thank you enough for being just a call away to all, the lost, homeless, hungry and thirsty. May we and all those who are distress call out to you, for you will lead us to safety and a place of shelter. May we and all those whom you’ve rescued continue to praise you for your great love and the wonderful things you have done, are doing, and will always do.

We trust you to satisfy us when we are thirsty and fill us with good things when we are hungry, for that is your promise to us. Be glorified and accept our worship. Amen!

3rd Scripture

29 Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.

30 And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.

31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. 32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

31 一 切 苦 毒 、 恼 恨 、 忿 怒 、 嚷 闹 、 毁 谤 , 并 一 切 的 恶 毒 ( 或 作 : 阴 毒 ) , 都 当 从 你 们 中 间 除 掉 ;

Closing Song

Benediction

Now may the God of peace—who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood—may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.
~ Hebrews 13:20-21
